Mysteries of the Earthsea

Chapter 191 Charles

"DE1344? A relic? Or is it the item the Foundation is talking about?"

Judging from the written records, this island is obviously used to contain this thing called 1344 alone. From the description alone, it is hard to imagine what DE1344 is.

"Lily, what's on this floor?" Charles asked.

If nothing happened, Charles decided to retreat. The Foundation has cleaned up the place so cleanly that there is no need to search further.

Lily didn't answer, she looked around with a look of confusion on her face, as if she was remembering something.

"Lily, what's on this floor?"

Facing Charles' questioning again, Lily finally came to her senses and shook her head hastily. "There is a big iron door locked inside, and mice can't get in at all."

Charles sighed. "Let's go, call back all the rats on guard on other floors, let's go back."

The so-called DE1344 must be behind that door, but Charles was not curious.

Just when Charles and the others had just walked into the stairwell, suddenly a golden streak flashed above their stairs.

"Who's there!" Charles's anchor hook was activated instantly, and it hit the wall above the slant. With a heartbeat, the chain contracted, pulling his body and flying up in an instant.

At the top of the stairs, a figure staggered towards the back of a door.

The moment he pushed the door open, Charles pulled the trigger with his right hand, and the opponent was shot in the leg.

Charles rushed in with his knees on his back, the muzzle of the gun directly on his forehead. "Don't move! You dare to move!!"

However, in the face of Charles' threat, this guy didn't respond, his body was like a puddle of mud on the ground.

"Huh?" Charles quickly turned him over, and a scrawny man appeared in front of him, the pupils that were almost protruding had been dilated, and he was dead.

The other Narwhal crew quickly followed up, looking at the corpse in front of them in astonishment.

"Captain, look at his teeth, he's one of those pirates too." Dipper pointed at his gold teeth.

"No, there's something wrong with the situation." As if he had noticed something, Charles' face was uncertain, and he looked around extremely nervously.

This is an empty floor, with nothing on the concrete walls inside, and the opposite stairway stands there alone.

"Captain, what's the matter?" Driven by Charles' tense atmosphere, Di Pu immediately drew out his weapon and looked around vigilantly.

"Look at his face, this guy is the same person as that mummy!"

Everyone present looked at the face of the corpse in unison. In the next second, everyone's eyes widened.

This corpse is exactly the same as the mole on the face of the mummy.

"If I'm not mistaken, the skeleton we saw before also belongs to this guy."

Dipper had a look of disbelief on his face. "Captain, this is impossible, the skeleton has injuries on its legs, look at this man—"

Seeing the gunshot wound just shot by Charles on the leg of the corpse on the ground, the panic in his eyes grew deeper and deeper.

"Back, back quickly, let's get out of here quickly." Charles led the crew to leave.

But just as he walked back to the stairs, Lily jumped off his shoulders and rushed towards the empty floor.

"Damn it!" When Charles returned to the original door, he saw Lily running towards the front stairs quickly.

Gritting his teeth, he quickly rushed in, grabbed Lily, and was about to retreat. Suddenly, his body froze, and a sharp blade was lightly attached to his aorta.

"Go back, this is not where you should come." A familiar deep voice came from behind him.

Charles turned his eyes slightly behind him, but saw nothing, the thing that threatened him was invisible.

"Captain! What's wrong?? What happened??" Di Pu and others were about to rush over.

"Wait!! I'm fine, you all stand there and don't move!!" Charles warned loudly.

Hearing the footsteps behind him stop, he asked in a low voice, "Who are you? What are you going to do?"

The blade approached Charles' neck again, and the voice sounded again, "Don't ask so many questions, go back, the surface information you want is not here."

"Okay, I'll retreat." Charles slowly retreated to the back, and when he walked slowly towards his crew, his eyes were fixed on James' backpack.

James nodded slightly, and quietly took out the two mirror boxes, while the vampire sailor on the side retreated towards the back stairs with horror on his face.

The moment Charles reached the middle of the empty floor, a dazzling light instantly enveloped the entire room.

The moment the surrounding lights lit up, Charles threw his body back suddenly, and his left prosthetic limb grabbed the transparent blade on his neck.

After being out of danger for a while, Charles quickly threw Lily into his pocket while his hand reached for the holster on his waist.

According to the direction in memory, Charles kept pulling the trigger over there.

Charles knew he had missed when he heard the sound of bullets hitting the wall.

There was a whistling sound in his left ear, and Charles quickly drew out the black blade to meet him.

"Ding ding ding~!" Three metal impacts sounded, and the two raised their right legs at the same time and kicked at the opposite side.

The glare of the mirror box disappeared, and Charles stood still.

When he saw clearly the appearance of the man in front of him, Charles' pupils instantly shrank to a very small size.

That was himself, not just him, Dipper, James, the doctor, and all his companions behind him except Lily.

"Captain, what's going on here? How come there are two of you?" Di Pu standing next to Charles had a look of disbelief.

"The opposite is 1344-1 from DE1344."

"The opposite is 1344-1 from DE1344."

The two Charles spoke at the same time, and frowned at the same time, both of them were very dissatisfied with each other's description.

After thinking about his words, Charles said to himself in front of him: "Leaving this island at the same time, is there no problem?"

The other party, Charles, did not answer. With a dignified expression, he led the crew behind him and slowly retreated towards the stairs over there.

"Let's go, let's go." Nervous Charles led the crew back to the stairs, and quickly retreated downwards.

The light of the ordered flashlight swept upwards from time to time, for fear that the other party would run down from above, but fortunately, this situation did not change.

When Charles rushed out from the melted iron gate and saw the mummified corpse on the ground, he suddenly understood.

Both this guy and the guy above were copied from 1344. No wonder the same person appears three times in different places.

"What exactly is 1344 that can replicate creatures? Why didn't I see it? Could it be..." Thinking of this, Charles turned his head to look at the huge mountain. "Is this whole thing DE1344?"

After returning to the ship and sitting in the captain's cabin, Charles couldn't calm down for a long time.

Although he didn't know which word DE in front of DE1344 was an abbreviation, but he had a new understanding of the evil door of the relic.

"Mr. Charles... I'm sorry, I was wrong." Lily in the pocket said aggrievedly.

Charles grabbed her out and looked at her calmly, "Why did you run over suddenly? God knows what's over there, you'll never even come back there!"

"I don't know... I seem to have been there... I seem to feel something on the other side." Lily lowered her ears.

"Next time, if you have something to do, please tell me clearly. If you act rashly like this, you will kill your other companions." After Charles finished speaking, he took out his sailing diary and began to write.

Lily sat on the table and wept silently, but Charles ignored her.

As a crew member of the exploration ship, this situation was a major mistake, and she must remember it long.

As time passed, Lily's tears turned into choked sobs.

There was a knock on the door, and as Charles yelled, Bandage came in.

"What's wrong? What happened?"

Facing Charles' question, Bandage slowly raised his hand and pointed to the fluorescent green Lily on the table. "Captain... this mouse... where... did it come from...?"
